Through my own challenges of gardening from a wheelchair, I designed and built a raised garden bed for those who wish to stand or stay seated while gardening. Based on the Square Foot Gardening Method, the garden beds are built to accommodate plants within each one foot area. It’s a great way to save space, time and effort, while maximizing your garden yields.
They are built with untreated, unsealed cedar and stainless steel for chemical-free gardening. I can also build a custom-sized garden bed to suit your space. Or use multiple beds to build the garden of your dreams.

Mel's Mix Garden Box Fill
Our garden beds are designed to use a lightweight soil blend that’s ideal for square foot gardening. It prevents the box bottom from dropping out and allows for perfect soil draining. The mix is made up of 1/3rd Vermiculite, 1/3rd Peat Moss, and 1/3rd Compost. A perfect add-on to get started immediately!

Tips for Success
Mel's Mix
Mel's Mix is a lightweight, nutrient rich media that is perfect for our raised garden beds. Due to the weight, we don't recommend using any other soil with our raised garden beds.
Drip Irrigation
Consider adding a drip irrigation system that can water your garden on a timer.
Untreated Cedar
While an unfinished cedar helps prevent chemicals from leaching into your soil and your crops, over time, the cedar will patina into a beautiful rustic gray color.
